The first Afrobeats musical to show live in the West End.

OLIVA TWEEST is an Afrobeats musical which is taking place April 15th, in the Lyric Theatre (home of Thriller: The Musical). It is the first play of its kind to feature in the west end and will feature a lot of familiar faces in the Afrobeats scene. The story, which is based on the D’Banj song ‘Oliver Twist’, is set in present time London, about a promiscuous young man (Tobi) who’s past comes back to haunt him when he finds the girl who changes him for the better (Testimony), with comedic performances from his Mother (Aunty Funke) and her lover Pastor (Bayodele). Great imagery, choreography and vocals are displayed throughout the production with the cast full of up and coming professionals. The Live band and vocal group (trained by Conrad Benjamin of Clarity Vocals) perform several breath taking cover versions of songs, by artists such as; Wiz kid, D’Banj, Stay J and many more, also expect to see some live cameo performances by the surprise guest artists.

The Production is set to be one for the history books as the first Afrobeats musical to take place in a west end theatre, with the anticipation of a great show the team are aiming to have a consistent production taking place over a longer period of time. The team has been working non-stop since August 2012, following many auditions and rehearsals.
