Ewa is a Yoruba word which means Beauty. Its a song that was written by Prince Adewale Oreshade (wale – @princeoreshade, to his wife as his gift to her on Lover’s Day; the 14th of February. Though, in its original form, the song is a mix of two poems from the writer’s most recent book titled Poetry of Love. He was able to re-compose it in a unique style so as to sound palatable to poetic and non-poetic minds. The song is a mix of High-life, Juju, R&B, Underneath-salsa, Pop, and Afrobeat. Its quite Folky too and has a bit of Fuji.
The song was sang by Mr. Kent – @kentoxygen, whose real name is Hassan Kehinde Daniel. He is a member of his church’s choir. He is prolific with the Piano, Bass, Guitar, Acoustic guitar and Drums. Having been exposed to music very early in life; he directs professional and conscious music. And he sings well across genres. He is able to mix comfortably through genres as will be seen in Ewa.
He is a native of Ijebu-Ode in Ogun State as Prince Adewale Oreshade is too. The latter, apart from being a Poet, is also a Lawyer and a Brand Consultant. Mr Kent has graced series of shows and concerts where he has wowed the audience with his unique vocals. A fine singer extraordinaire.
The song was produced by Mr. Wols – @soundhook, whose real name is Adewole Adesanya. Being a Genius in his own respect. He produced the likes of Lara George in Hallelujah, Nobody Like You. Skyebank in I Wish. Kore in Iyanibo and Infinity in This Love amongst others.
When these three meet, a spark must lighten. A classic and legendary one. When its on a phenomenal subject like Beauty; the result can only be Truth. Ewa is the Truth.
This is Ewa – Beauty, enjoy:
