In Pictures: The Club Bar & Restaurant Awards 2012! All That Went Down


Lagos city’s best and brightest clubs, bars and restaurants patrons, their friends, management team, staff and related businesses were out in force on Wednesday 12th of December 2012 (12.12.12) for the first ever event that celebrates, appreciates and rewards the nightlife and hospitality industry.

The Club Bar and Restaurant Awards 2012 took place at the Landmark Village Events, Victoria Island, Lagos to show appreciation to the players in the industry that exceed expectations of service, atmosphere, food and drink quality, presentation, customer service, and overall customer experience. The event was powered by Chivas Regal, a newly launched prestigious Whisky to the Nigeria Market.

The establishments that stood out above the rest were awarded. Eighteen trophies were handed out from an initial list comprised of hundreds of nominees, which were narrowed down to between four and six per category. As can be expected in a premier awards ceremony, those who have made the nominee list have all demonstrated a remarkable level of achievement in their category.

The strictly private affair kicked off with a champagne/cocktail networking reception. The guests mingled over endless delicious cocktails, Irish cream, Chivas Regal Whisky, Cognac mix and champagne. Guest was also treated with well presented rich sushi at the reception. The event was prestigious, glamorous and elegant. According to Ola Alabi the Creative Director of the CBR Awards “ Lagos has always attracted the best the world has to offer, and that is only going to increase over the years, both in terms of production and of service. The event saw an influx of international clientele from all over the world.

The guests at the event witnessed the first ever Chef Competition in the history of Nigeria. While sipping on champagne at the networking reception, guests had the opportunity of sneaking to a separate tent where Chef Lalu Sudirham of Sky Lounge Eko Hotel & Suite and Chef Stanley Mwangi of Southern Sun performed a live cook-off. The guest later moved swiftly to a dinner/banquet seating area to dine, receive awards, give awards and enjoy a smooth jazz performance by K-Sax.

The host of the night Scott Taylor and also the Director of Operation announced the expansion of the CBR Awards 2013 to Abuja and Port-Harcort. So we expect a bigger and more exciting CBR Awards 2013.
