Occupy Movement Don Hit Nigeria

In Lekki Lagos residents organized a protest against a toll gate that would tax motorist driving in the city. The toll is between N50 – N150. The reason for the protest is because resident feel that the govenment should not be taxing residents to use the roads.

The Toll was supposed begin tomorrow at the Admiralty Circle Toll Plaza on the ever-busy Eti-Osa -Lekki Expressway, hundreds of residents and activists today protested against the planned toll gate. Sad that peaceful protest could not take place. Our mentality is still violence first before peace.

According to reports, the peaceful protest turned violent as the Police were said to have attacked the  protesters. Meanwhile, an unconfirmed report revealed that one person died from bullet wounds sustained during the incident.

Glad to see that our youth and adults have the courage to protest. Occupy movement is not only happening in America it is also happening all over the globe.
