Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Lagos State, Chief Olabode George, is set to be released from Prison. Despite his incarceration, George has continued to wield influence in the state chapter of the party. ADEWALE AJAYI and STEPHEN GBADAMOSI write on how he rules the party from prison.
It is incontrovertible that Chief Olabode George holds the ace in Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Ever before his incarceration, he determined what direction the party went; he wielded so much influence that those who were against his style of leadership complained about his overbearing influence, all to no avail.
He bestrode the party like a colossus and towers above most of his contemporaries in the party. Controversies that surround the state chapter of the party were either directly or indirectly traced to him. At a time, the party was dodged by a crisis that compelled its national organ to intervene, trying to pacify the aggrieved members.
