Most of us have heard of the new mega city project the Lagos State Government have taken up, Eko-Atlantic. The pictures below give us an idea of the grande plan for this project. The entire city will be built on reclaimed land which is in progress as we speak.

Eko Atlantic will raise the standards of infrastructure in Lagos to sophisticated levels through a finely-structured urban plan that creates a balanced, environmentally friendly and efficient blueprint for a comfortable, healthy, safe and efficient style of life. Each of the seven districts of Eko Atlantic will display their own unique characteristics, but the infrastructural design will be standard throughout the city.

    • haha you're spot on @smile….also im wondering how ridculously expensive it will cost to own office/real estate there.

  1. I think it does not occor to the government that they need to focus on 3 major elements to boyant the economy beyond standard.. ELECTRICITY, ROADS AND SECURITY… with electricity there would be water and light would support security, with roads there would be less polution and good transport network, with secuity there would be less curruption and crime…

    • This is not a government project, its private project but suported by the Governo Fashola and being funded by private funds. It will be the first city in Nigeria with dependable constant energy, which in turn makes security a lot easier. The benefits are so much that nobody can fault this project (1) It will fresh cash into lagos (2) it will need lot and lots of employees run a city like that, which in turn will reduce the amount of unployment one way or the other(3) The strong, solid and modern houses will serve as pacesetter for future constructions in the state. Oh I forgot economy, what do you think will happen to lagos economy? lots of benefit, all the gov has to do is sit back and watch people build a tax haven for the state.

      • this is another rubbish. what about the other lagos city that are not well developed right now. why don't we make those ones better first intead of all these massive non sense. the lagos state govt is completely out of touch.

  2. What they really need to focus on is MAINTENANCE!!!

If they had incorporated maintenance into all the things they have built so far, Lagos would be a much more beautiful city

  3. The Eko Atlantic project is extremely ambitious. Projects like this are no longer a thing of surprise in other countries. I think we should commend the Lagos State Government for evening thinking it. This is what progressive development and governance is about. Gov. Fashola is clearly a breed apart to be able to create the enabling environment for such a project to take root, and he should be encouraged. It would be good to see other Gov's. Demonstrate a similar interest in developing their states.

  4. The world is changing, there is no great city in the world that doesn’t have it problem, agreed that Lagos is in a class of it’s own as regard decay, but this could be the beginning of a good thing, and critic, understand first b4 u show ur usuall negativity.
