Most of us are no strangers to SosSick. He’s the mastermind behind a lot of Da Grin’s major hits including “Pon Pon Pon.” He drops his official album, Mussick. Check out a little bit more information about him, and his joint, Ghetto Dreaming.
Born into a family that loved and collected music, Esosa or Sossick as he is famously known developed a fascination with the art form that was not displaced. The award winning mastermind behind the late Dagrin’s ‘Pon Pon Pon’ and most of the songs on his LP CEO, grew up in a household where music from the likes of Michael Jackson, Cool and the gang, Shalamar, Lionel Richie, Madonna, Cindy Lauper and Nigerian musicians like Alex O, Felix Liberty, Onyeka Onwenu was always being played. From a very early age, Sossick had such a keen ear for music, he was intrigued by what he heard and wanted to tear it all apart just to see how it was all put
together; the drums, the chords, the freedom and flair exhibited by the artistes, the poetry and the depth were all captivating to him.
He had an amazing knowledge of notes, keys, tunes, etc. This gift amazed friends and music practitioners, as he could create chords and tunes like he was a professional instrumentalist. Encouraged by his dad to pursue his dream of making music, he started developing his writing skills. He refused to limit himself. He drew inspiration from various genres. As long as it was creative and innovative, Sossick was on it! To date this approach has encouraged him to experiment with sounds and the award winning music he makes has evolved from music that was obviously inspired by hip-hop to a unique sound that he can safely call his own. His long
awaited and eagerly anticipated EP is out now. Though a brilliant EP, it is in no way a definition of his extraordinary talent and is definitely just a tiny fraction of what he has to offer.
